  • Negotiate and analyze vendor rate contracts
  • Identify and screen new carriers
  • Maintain rate database
  • Communicate service requirements to providers
  • Publish vendor capabilities to ICAT offices
  • Maintain vendor scorecards
  • Help resolve vendor conflicts
  • Provide administrative, research and special project support as needed
  • Assure other emergent tasks and projects requested in support of ICAT's fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in the transportation industry preferred
  • Will only consider candidates with a high school degree; further education a plus
  • Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving and interpersonal relationship skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and to communicate with co-workers, management, customers, agency partners and the public in a professional manner

ICAT is seeking experienced and highly motivated freight-forwarding Operations Agents.

If you are a reliable energetic team player with a strong work ethic, excellent written/verbal communication skills, the ability to work in a fast paced environment and the willingness to get the job done, we would like to hear from you!

Essential responsibilities:

  • Responsible for day to day execution of shipments originated and/or handled by the operations department.
  • Prioritize, schedule and route shipments and arrange for transportation throughout the United States and internationally.
  • Prepare quotations and coordinate documentation between customers, vendors, forwarders, and brokers.
  • Process cargo manifests and calculate charges.
  • Coordinate all areas of freight release.
  • Interact with customers and their key personnel as needed.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and operational proficiency to meet growth and profitability goals.
  • Proactively solicit customer feedback and provide innovative solutions to customer service issues/barriers. 

Job Qualifications:

The individual selected for this position must have a bachelors degree in Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management with 3-5 years domestic operations freight forwarding experience OR a minimum of 10 years domestic operations experience in the freight forwarding industry.  The successful candidate must have experience in multimodal logistics and have knowledge of FMC Regulations, IMCO, ITAR, TSA, C-TPAT, and HAZMAT.  Must also have functional knowledge of regulations and compliance procedures associated with all areas of freight forwarding.  Also required are excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Must have advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

ICAT is seeking experienced and highly motivated International Operations Agents in the BWI Area.

Essential responsibilities:

  • Responsible for day to day execution of all international shipments originated and/or handled by the international operations department

  • Prepare quotations and coordinate import/export documentation between customers, vendors, forwarders and brokers
  • Process cargo manifests and calculate charge
  • Coordinate all areas of freight release
  • Interact with customers and their key personnel as needed
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and operational proficiency to meet growth and profitability goals
  • Proactively solicit customer feedback and provide innovative solutions to customer service issues/barriers

Job Qualifications:

The individual selected for this position must have a bachelors degree in Transportation, Logistics or Supply Chain Management with 5 years international operations freight forwarding experience OR a minimum of 10 years international operations experience in the freight forwarding industry.  The successful candidate must have experience in multimodal international logistics, import/export and air/ocean freight, and have knowledge of FMC Regulations, IMCO, ITAR, TSA, C-TPAT, HAZMAT (Dangerous Goods Certified) and working with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).  Must also have functional knowledge of international regulations and compliance procedures in air/ocean freight with a strong focus on ocean shipments.  Also required are excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.  Must have advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
