A Marriage Made in Logistics

The Proposal: Accepting the Challenge

A renowned New York-based wedding planner reached out to ICAT to move and manage the logistics for a high-profile destination wedding in Saint Barthélemy (St. Barts). ICAT was asked to transport every element of the wedding from a chuppah, silver globes, furniture, carpet, pillow covers, and towels.

There were a few firm requirements though: It had to move from New York to the Caribbean within a week’s time and everything had to be perfect. With a narrow window to set up in four different venues, and almost no place to store the items, ICAT accepted the challenge.

Before the “I Do’s”: Creating a Custom Plan

ICAT had to develop a creative approach to the logistics of this move. Flying a large plane to the tiny island of St. Barts was not an option, so the materials were picked up at multiple locations in New York City, repacked, and then chartered on a 747 to fly to nearby St. Maarten. From there, the items were consolidated and moved via ocean on a barge to St. Barts.
